When asked where Sami and Chris might like to have their engagement photos session the choice was easy - the Gorge in Beechworth - as they had enjoyed hiking there early in their relationship.
The Gorge, adjoining the historic town of Beechworth, has 12 kilometres of walking tracks making it very popular with hikers. The Gorge can also be access by bicycle or vehicle and features spectacular views of granite landscape and is home to wallabies, possums and wombats along with many native bird species.
Our first stop along the Gorge was at the Powder Magazine, a bluestone building with National Trust listing that was originally build to hold gunpowder for local mining where used both the building itself and the surrounding scrubby bush for photos.
We then headed to the falls and steep rock face where the flowering wattle provided some colour.
With light fading our last stop was at the very end of the Gorge. In some of the photos the camera angle looks like Sami and Chris were standing on the very edge of the cliff however rest assured they were well back from the edge and not in any danger!
Thank you Sami and Chris for sharing your special place with me - it really is a wonderful location.
If you are getting married soon and would like to experience an engagement photo session we'd love to hear from you!
