After a busy few weeks in Mansfield with the Targa, High Country Festival and Mansfield Races the crowds turned out in large numbers to the Mansfield Show. Hosted by the Mansfield Agriculture and Pastoral Society the show is held annually at the Mansfield Showgrounds. As new residents to Mansfield we thoroughly enjoyed the show with so many activities and events being held during the course of the day, many of which we had not seen before.
The incredible skills of the junior stockmen and women as they guided their horses through a variety of obstacles in the junior stockmen challenge were amazing. While not all went to plan the stockmen/women didn't give in, were supportive of each other and completed the event with smiles on their faces.
We loved watching Kelpies and their handlers in the sheep dog trials with the dogs so enthusiastic and receptive to their handlers commands.
So many things to see and do from the equestrian events, shearing demonstrations, animal nursery, and carnival rides to the various competitions including photography, knitting and quilting, cakes and preserves, roses and children's writing. There was also a very entertaining show by Lachie Cosser the Singing Outback Stockman.
