Bonfire Station - Wedding of Pippa and James
And we're back!! So excited to be part of Pippa and James' wedding after a long Covid-enforced break from shooting weddings.
The wedding industry has seen a huge change in how couples choose to celebrate their wedding day as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and they generally fall into one of 3 categories.
Couples who...
1. are delaying their weddings until late 2021 and 2022 in the hope that, with time, restrictions will ease and they will be able to celebrate with all their friends and family.
2. are choosing to elope - with the option of holding a larger celebration when restrictions allow
3. don't want to delay their wedding and are booking just a few months out and limiting their guest lists based on current restrictions
After originally planning a much larger wedding Pippa and James fell into category 3 booking Bonfire Station Microbrewery & Farmstay in December, 2020 for their February, 2021 wedding. Bonfire Station ticked all the boxes; sweeping views of the Cathedral Ranges, a blue gum forest for the ceremony, a rustic barn and outdoor space for a marquee reception.
With heavy rains and flash flooding the day prior to the wedding and a snap 5 day Victoria lockdown the following week, Pippa and James enjoyed the perfect wedding day.

First Look
Pippa and James chose to see either other before the ceremony in a 'first look'. Breaking with tradition a first look has it's advantages: you get to see each other for the first time in a more private setting, it calms the nerves so you can enjoy and be present during the ceremony, you can choose to have some or all of your bridal party and couples photos before the ceremony allowing you to join your guests more quickly after the ceremony, and winter weddings get dark early leaving little time for photos after the ceremony.

Sunset
The sunset we had hoped for didn't eventuate but we took advantage of this burst of colour that lasted just minutes.
Thank you Pippa and James for allowing to capture your special day.
