In planning for your newborn session it is helpful to know what to bring along to your session so that you and bub are comfortable and things run as smoothly as possible.
What to bring...
- Food and drinks - An average newborn session will last from 2-3hrs. It's important for you and family members to stay hydrated and not get hungry so bring along any food and drink you might need during this time.
- Nappies, wipes and creams - you will no doubt already have these things in your baby bag
- Milk - your baby will probably feed more often during the session as it will help them settle between shots so please have available plenty of milk supply.
- Brush - if your baby has lots of hair please bring along a baby hair brush
- Blanket or swaddle - we have lots of wraps, drops etc for use during photos but please bring a cosy blanket from home to wrap them during feeds
- Dummy - dummies are amazing for soothing between feeds poses. If you are ok for baby to use a dummy, even just for the session, please bring one with you
- Clothing for family members - the studio will be toasty so light layers is the way to go
- Sentimental items - for 1 or 2 shots (optional)
- Patience - newborn photography cannot be rushed. Some babies settle straight away while others take more time to settle into poses.
- Toys for siblings - siblings and family photos are usually taken as soon as baby is settled so that they don't need to remain for the entire session. But, a quiet toy or two is great to keep them entertained while they are in the studio.
