Thank you for visiting this blog post about - 'When is the best time for newborn photography?'
If you are reading the post you are likely to be pregnant or have recently had a baby so congratulations!
The ideal time for newborn photography is generally under 14 days.
In these first few weeks baby is generally very sleepy and less sensitive to touch. They are still very flexible and comfortable being curled up into the position they had in the womb. Their skin is often smoother and blemish-free during this time.
So when you book your newborn photography session we schedule you in for around the 10 day mark. Babies don't often arrive on their due date so once you have delivered we either confirm the date or make any adjustment needed.
What if we can't get photos done in the first 14 days?
There are a lot of reasons why you may not be able to have a newborn session within the ideal time frame - baby may have been born prematurely, you only decided on newborn photos after baby arrived or you may need a bit more time at home before venturing out with your newborn.
For whatever reason please reach out and discuss your individual situation with me as it is still possible to create some beautiful older newborn photos. The health and well being of you and your baby will always take priority.
