They say "never work with children or animals" but I couldn't think of a better way to spend an afternoon than with 4 year old Emma and Hercules, her 20 year old Shetland Pony.

Emma greeted me at the door with her grand dad and we went outside to the most stunning views.  Mum Nicki had put together a few outfits but I just couldn't go past the cow girl boots, pink tutu and cowgirl hat with matching pink flowers. Emma was very excited and I was so impressed with her confidence handling Hercules. They clearly spend a lot of time together and have a beautiful connection. 

We took a few pictures of Emma overlooking the property before heading down into one of the paddocks. While our session was for Emma young 2 1/2 year old Harry, grand dad, mum, five week old Jesse and 8yo Amstaff Diesel joined us.  

As a newcomer to Mansfield having moved from Melbourne less than 12 months ago, I couldn't help but smile at the wonderful life children have growing up in the country.  Emma calmly trotting along on her horse while Harry was busy "working". Such a cute little guy in his work wear, reminded me of my boys when they were young.   Children happily exploring their environment, spending lots of time outdoors. 

It was an absolute pleasure spending time with this beautiful family. Thanks for a wonderful session - even if I did sit on an ants nest!
